Introduction to valve fire resistance test

API 607 and API 6FA are fire resistance tests for valves 6D and 6A. Generally, valves 6D, which can only be rotated 90°, require API 607 testing, while others require API 6FA testing.

Evaluation of drift diameter and pressure value for valve fire resistance test

In the fire resistance test of valves, the diameter and pressure values are covered from small specifications to large ones. For example:

1. Generally, the diameter covers specifications up to twice its size. For example, a 6NPS can cover diameters ranging from 6 to 12NPS, and a 100DN can cover diameters ranging from 100 to 200DN;

2. As for the evaluation of pressure rating, the coverage range is also specified, with 25PN covering up to 25:40PN;

3. If there are multiple valve models that need to be tested, you can ask the NormalTCI testing engineer to assess how many test reports are required.

Handling of valve fire resistance test

For the fire resistance test of valves, the enterprise needs to send samples to the testing laboratory. Then our certification engineers will conduct a witness test. After a 30-minute combustion test, a test certificate will be issued. If the samples do not meet the requirements, they need to be resubmitted for testing. If they meet the requirements, we will issue a certificate of conformity.
